Lend a Hand and Make an Impact

Volunteering with a hospice is a guaranteed way to make an impact on another person’s life. Aleca Hospice has many patients that would love to have someone come and visit and just spend some time talking with them. Visits from volunteers bring joy, excitement, and a wonderful break from the monotony of daily life. Many hospice patients simply are not able to get out of their home anymore due to illness, lack of strength or energy, and sometimes just not wanting to anymore.

Volunteers bring more than just a smiling face and a caring heart. They widen the other person’s world far beyond the standard walls of their home. They bring listening ears, laughter, and much needed companionship. Individuals who volunteer to visit hospice patients bring them something to look forward to. In fact, most volunteers end up enjoying the experience just as much, if not more, than the people they visit.

There are many other opportunities/activities at Aleca Hospice for volunteers if direct visits are not your choice. There are plenty of office responsibilities as well. You can participate in activities such as answering calls, filing, assisting with the bereavement program, and special projects. If you have a special talent, we would love to talk to you and see how your skills can be incorporated into Aleca Hospice’s volunteer program!
